Appointments

An appointment is normally for 10 minutes and is for one person only. Generally only one problem is dealt with in a consultation. A longer appointment can be arranged for more complex problems.

Separate appointments should be made for other family members. Children under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.

You can book an appointment with any GP. However, not all GPs provide all services and you may have to wait for an appointment with a specific GP.

Telephone Advice

If you would like telephone advice from the GP you usually see, please contact the surgery on 01224 849400. The Telephonist / Receptionist will take a message and contact telephone number from you. Your usual GP will try and ring you back as soon as possible. NB: Please be aware that this may not be on the same day. You will be informed if the GP is a day off or unavailable. It is important to remember that not all the GPs work full-time.

Please make sure that we have the best contact number for you and be prepared that the incoming call from the GP will be a 'number withheld' or 'unknown caller' number.

Urgent Telephone Advice

If you need urgent advice but don't think you need an appointment, the Telephonist / Receptionist will try and put you through to the Duty Doctor, or take a message for the Duty Doctor to call you back as soon as possible.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
